How long are business checks good for?
Banks are generally not obliged to honor a check older than six months, though many still do. Reissue anything older, and keep unused check stock dry and flat; it does not expire.
What starting check number should I use?
Continue from your last check. For a new account any number works; 1001 is the convention so the register does not begin at 1.
